Saint John Vianney Catholic Church

All Saints Meal Program

Update Spring 2012
Help!  We need more food to bring to this meal program. We are getting more families who are hungry!

Can you help?  Please call Debbie to see what's needed most!

There's nothing worse than running out of food when people are still in line and hungry!

Parish members purchase, prepare, deliver and serve food at All Saints Parish, 4060 N 26th in Milwaukee each first and third Thursday of the month.

Donations of clothing and furniture are also accepted.

Parish members are invited to bring a food item to the Narthex Wednesday evening or Thursday by 4 p.m. and check-off your name on the list.

A very special thank you...

Saint John Vianney parishioners...

I want to let you know that we fed over 1700 people in 2011 at the All Saints Meal Program.

This number does not include Christmas or Thanksgiving dinners where we fed another 400 people!

Thank you for helping us feed God’s children!

                   Chuck & Debbie

Parish members bake a delicious chicken casserole to serve.  Bakers bring the casserole to SJV's church kitchen by 3:55 p.m. sharp!

Can you bake?
We could always use more chicken casserole!

Chicken & Rice Casserole

The main entre served is a Chicken and Rice casserole - a favorite!

The recipe is quite simple:

1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
1 can Cream of Celery soup
2 cups milk (powdered is okay)
2 cups Minute rice (or use regular and increase liquid)
8 or more pieces of chicken (breasts, legs, etc (please no necks, wings or giblets))
1 pkg dry onion soup mix

Spray roasted pan with Pam. Mix rice, soups, milk and 1/2 of dry soup together in pan. Place chicken on top of rice and sprinkle remaining dry soup on top.

Cover and bake at 350 for 90min-2 hours or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.

Deliver to SJV piping hot!
