Praying for healing has been part of the Church from the very beginning. In fact, healing is the fruit of Jesus’ work and is integral and central to Christianity—a practical application of Jesus’ teaching. Healing is a sign of the kingdom of God, the Holy Spirit always present, always at work.
There is interest here at SJV in a series of teaching seminars to prepare the laity to develop their gift of healing.
The hope is that you will be able to minister to those who are in need of spiritual, psychological, or physical healing. Eventually, the goal is to meet at an established frequency to pray with and for those who need healing.
Do you enjoy prayer?
Do you want to pray for healing for others?
Do you want to learn more?
This ministry may be just the one for you!
Develop your gift of healing...
Last year many of you joined in sessions designed to train lay people in the art and ministry of praying for physical, psychological, or spiritual healing.
There are four more sessions to conclude this training and then begin this ministry.
Those who attended before are encouraged to attend. And those who are new and interested are invited as well.
All sessions are led by parishioner Margarett Schlientz, PhD, starting at 9:00 a.m. (Mass at 8:00 optional) and concluding at noon.
The cost is $15 per session, $25 per couple. Those who pay for all four sessions pay only $50 or $90 for the couple. Continental breakfast is available for $1.
