The Home & School Association is a vital and active part of St. John Vianney School. The membership of The Home & School Association is comprised of SJV parents, and is an organization with many diverse purposes. In advancing and accomplishing those purposes, Home & School works closely with the Principal.
Function The primary purpose for which Home & School exists is to promote cooperation and communication between parents, teachers and administration. Home & School sponsors many activities that are intended to enhance the spiritual, social and academic experiences of the St. John Vianney school community. Some of the activities include:

Home & School is the primary fundraising body for the school. In addition to funding the various curriculum enriching programs, the funds raised by Home & School have also been used to finance things such as:
Building Improvements
Textbooks
Contributions to the operating budget (to offset tuition increases)
Playground Equipment
Community outreach
Technology (including SMART Boards)
There are three major fund raising programs sponsored by Home & School—Market Day, Scrip and the biannual Bids for Kids auction. In addition, participation in other vendor sponsored fund raisers, e.g. General Mills Box Tops for Education, Pick N’ Save, Target, Office Depot & Golden Guernsey’s programs, is encouraged.
Membership in Home & School is accorded to each school family upon payment of a small membership fee—presently $15.00. All members are entitled to vote. The Executive Board is comprised of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. The Vice Chairperson serves a one-year term and then succeeds to Chairperson the following year effective in the first day of the new fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).
