SJV Athletic Board meeting January 15, 2007

Members present: Jeff Meyer, Tom Reuteman, Dave Gehringer, Bob Wilcox, Bob Wellenstein, Julie Jolitz, Jeff Olesen, Dean Veling, Liz Sweet

Treasurer’s report—Steve out—no report

Basketball report—8^th grade and 7^th grade tournaments are set. The 8^th grade tournament will start on 1/16/07. All referees and concession people are set for the tournament. Board members are encouraged to attend the games when they can. The 7^th grade tournament set for next month is now full.

We may have to re-schedule some of the game times on Sunday depending on which teams make the finals. Some of the teams have league games on Sunday

Track update---Julie gave the following key dates for the upcoming track season

March 26^th (Mon & Thur) Practice starts

March 7^th Uniform dist. & parent meeting

March 13^th Pictures

April 14^th 1^st meet

May 5^th Quad parish meet

May 18^th, 19^th Championships

We will be ordering aprox. 12 new sweatshirts and some new starting blocks

Volleyball update—Liz will be helping out Bob Wellenstein through the spring. Bob’s assistant will probably be a new board member.

The Coaches Classic was considered a success and we will more than likely have the event next year.

CYM update—Dave has registered 10 teams for CYM and a total of 95 players. So far all is going well.

We received a quote to replace the gym lights from Town & Country Electric. Their quote was around $12,000 with a $2,000 energy rebate. The lights would save power & money over the next few years. The athletic board would not be picking up the entire cost if we are to go ahead and replace.

The uniform committee will consist of Olesen, Meyer & Wilcox

Our next meeting will be held on February 19, 2007
