SJV Athletic Board meeting   March 26, 2007

 

Members present:  Jeff Meyer, Tom Reuteman, Dave Gehringer, Bob Wilcox, Steve Ries, Liz Sweet, Patty Hovind, Julie Jolitz, Jeff Oleson, Dean Veling, Sue Green

 

 

Treasurer’s report—Current year to date we have $73,847 Income and $54,542 Expense—net gain of $19,305

Major income this month came from basketball tourney entry fees and major expenses were CYM uniforms, Padre entry fee and athletic banquet deposit

 

 

Track Report— Track practiced started 3/26 and there are 97 participants signed up. Practices will be held on Monday and Thursday nights from 5:30-7:00. Pictures were also taken on 3/26. Coaches clinic is scheduled for 4/1

 

Volleyball update---Volleyball camp will be held on July 23-26th. The splits will take place on 8/15-8/18. We will try and have the 5th and 6th grade try out on one night. A parent meeting date will be set later. Liz mentioned the need for some new volleyball standards which we will discuss later. Liz is also putting registration flyers in the red folders this week

 

CYM update—Dave stated the season went very well. Three of our teams earned banners which will be hung in the gym. Thanks and good job to Dave for his hard work with CYM. His very able assistant will have some big shoes to fill.

 

---We agreed to give bonuses to Jean Lewis and Cindy Blamer.

 

---Jeff O., Bob and Jeff M. discussed new uniforms for the upcoming season. We discussed buying less expensive uniforms that the boys would keep each year. There was discussion whether or not we even needed new basketball uniforms. Patty mentioned the volleyball uniforms were in poor shape. We will continue to explore this issue.

 

---Basketball coaches evaluations are starting to come in. The Kloza/Sandstrom nominations will be needed within the next month. The athletic banquet is set for May 24th.
