Secretary’s Report—March report approved and submitted
Treasurer’s report—Gym rental fees and gate receipts are lower this year than last because we hosted fewer home games this year. Steve will try and break out CYM fees and income on the financial statement. We discussed the possibility of lowering the participation fee for the athletes. One option would be to give a discount to families with multiple athletes participating. We will discuss this further.
Track Report— Track season has started and they have had two meets so far. We will be ordering a couple of shot puts and metal cleats for the starter blocks. We discussed the high jump pit and due to storage, safety, expense, and usage we will not be purchasing one.
Volleyball update---Volleyball
splits will be held Aug. 15-17. The registration deadline is May 25th.
Bob is planning a parent meeting on Thur. May 31st @
Basketball Update---Bob
Wilcox has requested the same tournament dates as last year.
Miscellaneous—
Julie Jolitz will be looking into another option for athletic form registration. This format will be using one form for all sports.
It was decided that new basketball uniforms will not be purchased this year. The current ones are still in good condition. We will keep addressing this issue as we still have to deal with the non-reversible issue. We will also evaluate the condition of the volleyball uniforms. Some of these may be replaced.
We have switched coolers in the concession room going from Coke to Pepsi.
We discussed the fact that the gym has been left unlocked on several occasions. We may be changing the locks and issuing new keys.
Kloza/Sandstrom award nominations should be in within the next 2 weeks. The athletic banquet invites have been sent and all is set for this event.
Everyone should be thinking about new board member nominations. The Discernment will be held in a couple of months.
Board members that have ideas on spending money should be investigating the costs and have them available for our next meeting. Dean Veling wants to extend the storage cage in the gym and the cost to have this done is $960. The board approved this expenditure.
Next meeting
Respectfully submitted,
Jeffrey Meyer
