St. John Vianney Parish hosts a Justice Market each fall featuring a variety of unique, fair trade and eco-friendly handicrafts to support and encourage small-scale, independent artisans from developing countries and local crafters.

Special thank you's...

A very huge thank you goes out to new parishioner, Kathleen Rave for her leadership in making this weekend’s Justice Market a fantastic event! As a new parishioner, Kathleen jumped in and agreed to head up this endeavor, and she did so with great enthusiasm and energy.

Thanks also to Sr. Nelda, who worked with her and who created a reusable outdoor banner for the Parish Center entrance.

Many artisans and craftpersons in the developing world are grateful, and so is our parish!

Please note that some of the vendors cannot accept charges, so bring checks and cash please!

What to Expect...

Come for coffee (from the former Coffee Place) and the wonderful cinnamon bread of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, then stay to shop both for Christmas and for yourself!

The Justice Market features the following:

Four Corners of the World, Authentic Journeys, Go Earth, and Third World Handcrafts Shoppe, all Fair Trade stores with a wide variety of wares made in third world countries, with all of the profit going to help raise their ability to support themselves and their families. These vendors¡¦ wares include Fair Trade coffee and (fabulous) chocolate!

Salvatorian artists Sr. Karlyn Cauley (Shaker art) and Sr. Clarice Steinfeld (Scherenschnitte-German paper cutting), and handmade notecards and calendars by the Dominican Sisters.

Blest Art - Religious articles handcarved of olivewood in Bethlehem (supports the remaining Catholics there)

Special overseas ministries including metalwork and paintings, and St. Francis Cabrini's Haitian arts from the St. Joseph Center in Haiti, woven plastic tote bags and other Haitian work.

How you can help...

1.  Generously support the artisans with your purchase of their fine arts and treats.

2.  If you would like to help at the Justice Market, contact Sr. Nelda Hernandez 262-796-3944.
