The life of the parish is enhanced by communities of people who gather with common interests. These groups attract members based on hobbies, fellowship and sharing special talents.

Athletics

Directs an athletic program for youth of the parish in grades 5 – 12 and their families that foster Christian values and promotes community. Coordinate aspects of the SJV athletic program – concessions, coaching, managing teams, tournaments and gym scheduling and supervision. Current athletic programs include: volleyball, basketball and track.
Festival
Promote and build parish unity and raise funds for the parish. Planning, set-up, festival operation and clean-up. The festival is held in June, two weeks after Memorial Day weekend.

Meeting and strengthening the spiritual and physical needs of people – “the ultimate moving experience.” Dance/aerobic activity that includes muscle strengthening techniques. Meets 4 mornings a week at 8:00 a.m. in the Church Hall.
LINK Office

Work to connect talents of parishioners with parish and community needs. Work in the LINK Office located in the Parish Center primarily in the months of December and January to follow-up on commitment cards. Hours are very flexible.
Meet & Eat, Etc.

Create a greater sense of community for single adults through bi-monthly shared meals and other activities as planned by members. Participants gather on a Sunday for a meal and for socializing. Occasional other events are planned.
New Member Orientation

Provide a welcoming face, inform, invite and involve new parishioners in the church community. Register new parishioners monthly. Teams of individuals currently run the New Member Orientation Sunday program which is held on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
Novel Idea Book Club

Parish Social

Offer parishioners a chance to socialize and meet one another. Set up and provide coffee, donuts and juice for parishioners on the second Sunday of each month after the 9 and 11 AM Masses. Free-will offering accepted.

Capture the vitality, spirituality and community of St. John Vianney through still photos and/or video recordings. Photograph events for the weekly bulletin or special features and projects such as the annual report.
Stewardship Committee

Develop and implement an active and vibrant stewardship program within the parish to help members generously share gifts of time, talent and treasure. Develop ongoing programs to enhance total stewardship formation of members including – Prayer, Ministry and Offerings. Develop and implement an annual total stewardship renewal & commitment program, planned giving program and new member orientations.
Young At Heart

A social support group for senior citizens. Upbeat group does things such as ice cream socials, pot luck dinners, or lunch at the Venice Club. Speakers are occasionally brought in.
