Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society at St. John Vianney parish is a Catholic lay organization whose members grow spiritually through person-to-person service to the needy and suffering. Vincentians are united in an international society of charity and part of a local conference. St. John Vianney Parish members are part of the Waukesha Council of St. Vincent de Paul.
St. John Vianney conference volunteers make home visits to those in material or other need, providing food, resources and financial help when needs arise. The conference also visits and brings Mass cards to families who have lost loved ones, delivers holiday food baskets, oversees the St. John Vianney Parish food pantry and "reverse collections" and coordinates the parish involvement in the St. Vincent de Paul Meal Program.
Our pantry is in heavy usage. We often need cereal (other than Cheerios), spaghetti sauce, sugar, hamburger helper, pancake mix (only complete-just add water), pancake syrup, both regular and sugar free, meals in a can, and jelly. If you can donate any item, please place them in or on the pantry boxes in the Narthex.

How we help...

Those in need are to call the Parish Office and are then directed to the St. Vincent de Paul phone line. A conference member who is assigned to retrieve messages will then call the people who have asked for help. A home visit will be arranged for new clients. Food pantry appointments are also handled by calling the SVDP phone line. It is not necessary to be a parishioner or a Catholic to receive help from SVDP.
Vincentians witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice.
