This year we are excited to invite youth entering grades 9 through 12 in 2012-2013 to join us on one (or even two) mission trip experiences!
We have accepted the humbling opportunity to participate in SHINE Catholic Work Camp’s “Extreme” Camp in Joplin, Missouri. In May 2011, Joplin was struck by a devastating and deadly tornado. The city has since been rebuilding homes and hearts. We’ll be helping in whatever way we can. The days will be long and the work will be intense. We will still celebrate daily
Mass and adoration, but SHINE programming may be adjusted
based on work days.
We will also be participating in Young Neighbors in Action (YNIA) program in San Francisco, California. We will help at
soup kitchens, shelters, lunch programs, and senior centers amongst other social agencies. YNIA offers many opportunities for reflection, leadership and fun!
We invite YOU to prayerfully consider these experiences. Please visit the Christian Formation office for an application. A $100 nonrefundable
deposit must accompany each application to reserve one’s spot on either mission trip.
