Wedding Associates is a new ministry offered at St. John Vianney.
Individuals and couples in this ministry meet with the engaged couple at their liturgy planning session with the priest or deacon and get to know them and understand their liturgical plans.
The Wedding Associates then run the wedding rehearsal and assist the family on the day of the wedding in preparation of the ceremony.
The wedding rehearsal is an important part of marriage preparation. It kicks off the weekend for the couple and puts some of their nervousness to rest.
Traditionally priests conducted the rehearsal, but it certainly is not something that requires a priest’s presence.
At St. John Vianney, wedding rehearsals are run by trained Wedding Associates. The Associates also assist the family on the day of the wedding in preparation for the ceremony.
