FATHER LIPSCOMB SOCIETY
APPRECIATION EVENT
On Thursday, May 20, over twenty members of the St. John Vianney Father Lipscomb Society, along with Fr. Ken Knippel and Fr. Phillip Bogacki, gathered at Fr. Ken’s residence for a wonderful evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and fellowship.

The group viewed a PowerPoint presentation of the history of Saint John Vianney and Fr. Lipscomb’s wish that parishioners remember SJV in their final estate plans. As an additional treat, the group viewed the beginnings of an exclusive video of society member and parishioner, Bernie O. Gruenke, as he discussed his inspiration for the designs and artwork that make up Saint John Vianney Church. Thank you to all who are part of the Father Lipscomb Society who gathered together and those many more whom were unable to attend.

Want to be invited next year? Be part of the Father Lipscomb Society by adding St John Vianney to your will or considering planned giving for SJV. Leave a lasting legacy and a lasting gift to the future of a vibrant and healthy parish and school. Members receive a quarterly newsletter and are invited to social gatherings such as that held on May 20.

May we all rejoice in God’s manifold grace and blessings! May we continue to foster this vision through this society.
Fr. Paul Lipscomb, 1979

For, amen I say to you,
if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed
nothing shall be impossible to you.
Matthew 17:19

The Society

When Fr. Paul Lipscomb was appointed to be the first pastor of St. John Vianney in 1956, he planted a symbolic mustard seed on barren land near the corner of Calhoun and Gebhardt Road. His vision allowed this mustard seed to grow and flourish into a vibrant faith community.

In the spirit of Fr. Lipscomb, we extend an invitation to join a society committed to the mission of St. John Vianney. Your membership, through the stewardship of planned giving, will provide the parish and school a confidence for the future.

Upon Fr. Lipscomb's ending of his pastorate at St. John Vianney in 1979, he left us with these words, "Let us all rejoice in God's
manifold graces and blessings! May we continue to foster his
vision through this society."

"We must breathe into it a soul by our community worship.
Then, together, this new body and renewed spirit will be most
pleasing in the eyes of God.  May it move us to a new level of
obedience to His will.  May it increase in us a love of God in
others.  May our new spritual life be an inspiration to our
children's children."
